Vauxhall celebrated it’s centenary in 2003 and few car manufacturers can match the overall consistency and performance of Vauxhall cars. Over 300,000 new Vauxhall vehicles are registered every year in Great Britain.
Founded in 1903, when the first vehicle rolled off the production line in Vauxhall, South London, it has developed as part of the world’s most established motor manufacturers.
In 1926 Vauxhall was acquired by General Motors. In 1929 General Motors also acquired OPEL, of Germany. Together they are now part of the world’s largest manufacturing corporation with a turnover of $1,736 million.
Vauxhall employs 5,600 people in the UK and supports a further 30,000 British jobs. Production facilities are based in Ellesmere Port and Luton, where IBC vans are made.
Vauxhall continues to provide some of the UK’s most popular and successful family cars.
