I write this letter to thank you and the Service Department for the excellent service I received on Tuesday 15 September.

The afternoon of Monday 14th, a warning light lit up on the dash of my Vectra. I rang the reception and asked if they could look at the problem and if a loan car was available. As a loan car wasn’t available, the lady I spoke to suggested I bring the car in the next morning at 8.30am to check what the problem was.

The fault was found to be the EGR valve, you had one in stock and I was away before 10.30.
I earn my living in the car, travelling some 30,000 miles a year and being off the road is costly.

I feel that I must write to tell you how delighted I am with the service I get from Pickering, not only on a regular basis but also in an emergency!

I recently heard a “funny loud noise” and rang Fiona. Within 10 minutes two young smart mechanics arrived – one transported me home, the other removed the car to the Garage.

At all times, I was treated very courteously and reassured that all would be well.

As I am presently recovering from surgery, the whole episode could have been very stressful for me, however, those young men made sure I was quite happy when they returned the car to my home – it was a “chip” in the brake lining that sounded like the engine was falling out!

In the last week we have visited several/many dealers (Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota, Kia, Citroen, Suzuki, Fiat and Renault) and were surprised and disappointed at the lack of professionalism and seemingly uncaring attitude of most of the staff, especially the big two- and especially during the credit crunch with its impact on the car trade. At one dealer, we were there 10 minutes without any salesperson approaching us, and picked up a brochure on the way out, in another, neither salesman got off his chair to speak to us and I had to ask him to write the price on my brochure. You were definitely the best person we dealt with. Smiling, welcoming, polite, friendly and you said you would like our business. You also helped my daughter decide what she actually needed and you closed the deal and left us both feeling we were happy with the sale (and I was once a National Sales Manager – large team selling retail electricity contracts – so have a bit of knowledge in this area).

We are also looking to change my wife’s car later this year and some of the dealers will NOT be considered

Dear Mr Batchelor
I was recently involved in the purchase of a second hand vehicle from your Company and I thought that I should write to you to express my appreciation in the manner with which this was handled by your salesman Graham Seilly.

As you will see from the address at the heading of this letter I live in south-east London and I wished to locate a nearly new Vauxhall Zafira. Searching the internet I found that your garage had a vehicle for sale which could well be suitable. On speaking to Graham on the telephone at some length, I was suitably convinced that I was dealing with someone of sufficient integrity as to enable me to agree to buy totally unseen – not something I would normally consider.

To complete the purchase and to collect the car, I decided to travel to Ripon and to make an overnight stop. Graham was kind enough to recommend a very nice B & B and further more also to arrange to have me collected from Thirsk the following morning and driven to Ripon.

On collecting the car, which was exactly as he had described it to me on the telephone, I was also delighted to find that the tank had been filled. This is in addition to arranging to tax and insure the car and to the fitting of a roof box – all handled with the minimum of fuss and totally efficiently.

This has all left me with the view that I shall definitely be speaking to Batchelors the next time I change my car.

On our return from a few days at Staithes, our Zafira broke down at Saltburn and we were thankfully rescued by Green Flag who brought us, plus dog and car back to Ripon.

We were dealt with immediately – given a welcome cup of coffee by John Jarratt (with whom we deal when changing cars), water provided for our dog – car dealt with immediately and luckily the fault was found, put right and we were on our way approx 30 mins after arriving – driving off in a gleaming clean car, which when it arrived it was COVERED by presents from the many seagulls at Staithes.

What can I say except a huge thank you for the excellent service you gave us. Since buying our first Vauxhall from you approx 5 years ago we have always been impressed with the company and even more so now.

I received my Vauxhall Astra last year through Batchelors of Ripon, this is the second car I have had from this dealership.

Firstly, the inspection process and new pin number scheme made it so easy and straightforward and the whole changeover went without a hitch.

Yesterday the car was collected for it’s first service and was to be returned later in the day. Normally I would have taken it in and someone would run me home as I am 6 miles from Ripon but I have been a bit immobilized for a week or so. In the afternoon Batchelors rang me to say I had a puncture which was irrepairable and I should have to take it to Kwik Fit in Ripon. I explained my position and they arranged to take the car for the new tyre, but it would be the following day before the car was returned to me. A phone call later and they said the tyre was replaced and the car was on it’s way home to me. I was amazed and delighted at Batchelors going that extra mile.

They also offer a free car wash service to anyone who buys a car from them and to me that is such a bonus, so it arrived sparkling inside and out!

It is a great service and they deserve praise.

It’s not often these days that I feel the need to write a letter of compliment to anyone, however I do think this time a letter of praise is well deserved. Mr Partner and I recently purchased a used Vauxhall Astra sports hatch from your dealership and I must say that I am extremely impressed with the whole experience.
