Combining style, functionality and exceptional fuel efficiency, the plug-in petrol-electric hybrid model of the Outlander is Mitsubishi’s most advanced SUV yet, returning exceptional fuel economy as well as a bare minimum of carbon emissions.
The Outlander impresses right away with its contemporary and assertive styling. There are three basic trim levels to choose from: GX3, GX4 and GX5. All models have practical features including LED daytime running lights, front fog lamps, automatic headlights and parking sensors. There are also design details such as 18-inch alloy wheels for a touch of class, and higher grade models offer sporty features such as a rear spoiler to improve the aerodynamic performance.
The Outlander PHEV seats up to five occupants and you can fold the seats with a simple one-touch mechanism to create a large luggage space. With all seats in place the boot space is 436 litres. Mitsubishi has used soft-touch materials throughout to give the Outlander an upmarket feel and all models feature air conditioning, Bluetooth® connectivity and an MP3-compatible stereo. The range-topping GX5 model also boasts an HD navigation and music system.
The Outlander PHEV combines the power of a 2.0-litre petrol engine and twin electric motors. With a 0-60mph time of around ten seconds this model performs well on the road, and the sophisticated four-wheel drive system ensures you can venture off-road with ease. The hybrid Outlander is one of the most economical SUVs on the road, returning up to 156mpg and emitting just 42g/km of CO2 emissions.
The strong body of the Outlander PHEV is constructed from high-tensile steel and Mitsubishi has equipped all trim levels with a comprehensive safety specification. This includes active stability and traction control as standard along with hill start assist on all models. Higher grade models also feature advanced safety systems such as Forward Collision Mitigation System and a Lane Departure Warning system.
